Right or Wrong Decisions – it’s all about how you recover
We all have daily choices to make which lead to right or wrong decisions. I wasn’t really sure where to start on this one. Let’s just say I had a pretty cool childhood and I’m very thankful for it. My parents, Tom and Evan, are still kicking at 85 and 88 years old. Every day they still tell me that they love me. I think that summarizes it.
I found myself not making the best decisions
The Wonder(ful) Years
When I got into my adolescent years I found myself not making the best decisions. Clearly this was not because of my parents. It wasn’t because of anything that happened in my childhood, or any life event, friend, the world, the government, or because of some bad spiritual fate. I was simply making really dumb decisions. I was choosing the proverbial “wrong path” if you will.
We all have “moments” in our life that change us in some way, shape or form.
Nothing wrong with parking cars
Fortunately, I had two moments that slapped me in the face and put me on the right path. I’m not going to get into what they were. I will tell you that both made me realize that I was solely responsible for what was going on in my life. I realized that if I wanted to change it I would have to do something different, so I did!
At 23, I was a car parking (nothing wrong with parking cars), pot smoking, job hopping, college dropout…..but I was an excellent dancer from all the clubbing we were doing! Now jump forward twenty years, and this same guy was addressing the Reno Mortgage Bankers Group of over 500.
I still look back on that moment and kinda chuckle. You know what I was speaking about? “How to be a more effective sales person.” Only in America!!
I was solely responsible for what was going on in my life
Friends, you are all faced with a myriad of decisions every day, so make good decisions and you’ll be happier.
When you make the wrong decision, take responsibility for it and recover magnificently.
Have a super fantastic day!
